I just think every day, when one thinks it cannot get much worse, it does, it goes from bad to worse.

For more than 3 years, for more than 1,000 days, I have been writing every single day about the state of Britain brought about by it's political landscape, and it is depressing writing and depressing reading. I have never known Britain to be in such dire straits.
BUT out of negative depression I propose a positive solution. On Thursday the 8th on a Zoom meeting of interested Group members, I am going to propose the formation of a new political party. I have reached this conclusion, because of what I write and read daily for more than a 1,000 days. It is the only solution in my mind, because politicians are not listening and have failed the people that voted for them. You might call my idea a quiet, peaceful, lawful revolution. I would call it making history and YOU could be part of it.
On Saturday 10th September there will be a March in Westminster to rejoin the EU. Coaches are laid on across the country to bring protestors to listen to speakers. It is well organised. It has taken months to organise. BUT I wonder what happens on Sunday September 11thwhen everyone has gone home.
They are marching on Westminster as are Extinction Rebellion to raise awareness and to change minds, influence Politicians. The latter like sowing seeds on stony ground. I formed the Group People 1st when Starmer told his Labour MPs to vote for a Tory Fairy Tale called Brexit and so inflict economic suicide on the country. His predecessor Corbyn had voted with the Tories for Article 50. Both acts in my book unnecessarily WRONG. Now Labour say they will fix the unfixable Brexit.
Brexit needs reversing.
Not just a calamity, Brexit is LIES and Economic Suicide and was always going to be.
At this point I will tell you 3 interesting observations. There have been members of People 1st that have recently said “as long as you do not reverse Brexit”. They are now Ex members. Everyone should know by now about Brexodus, staff shortages, goods and services shortages, exports down to 1955 levels, Brexit costing £1million per hour. Most of the inflation is down to Brexit. Your holidays are messed up because of Brexit, your rivers and beaches are polluted because of Brexit. Do you need more examples, like businesses collapsing and so on? In addition, I have shared my intentions about new politics on the various and numerous Rejoin Facebook Groups. Some comments are “we do not need another political party” “we do not need another left wing party letting the Tories back in”. It always annoys me , negative comments, like “ you will not get anywhere until there is Proportional Representation”. Well yet again who is going to give voters that? Who? Negative comments are like leaving the handbrake on and wondering why you are not getting anywhere.
OK, so where are the political parties supporting Rejoin? Where are the left wing political parties in Westminster. Do they not realise that politics has shifted to the right for all the parties. Fascism is on the rise again after 90 years and not just in Britain. We all know what Fascism leads to through hatred and division. Where is a party that proposes renationalisation of public services , including energy companies and water companies, plus transport and mail? Come on, where is socialism, where are Political Parties who do not have their own agenda and are too busy to listen to strikers, picket lines, Union Reps, Protestors, even voters?
People 1st is aiming to fill that void, created by that move to the right. People 1st would listen to just protests and act. People 1st was saying “enough is enough” a thousand days ago , not just the last 14. Then there is the climate catastrophe protests, and if 14 million British Homes were better insulated, one, we would not have protestors super gluing themselves to motorway tarmac and two, people would not have massive unaffordable energy bills.
Britain is nose diving into the abyss because of the way Worseminster has not listened and supported the people of this land. You can rightly blame the nasty Tory Party and their nothing to see here, move on legacy, but also most of the 650 MPs who , quite frankly have let people down. Who bluntly are not fit for public office. BUT the state of play is that people vote for the best of a bad lot, and end up with what they voted for, the best of a bad lot. By the way one in three people do not vote at all, probably because they think all politicians are all the same , so no point. 16 million non voters, abstainers, incredible.
That is why we need a new political party, to listen to people, to care, to hear their protests, to hear their stories, not send the police out to arrest them. We need a new political party to erase Eton elitists getting rich, drunk and fat whilst ignoring the people. We need a party of people for the people for the benefit of the people, who listen to scientists, economists and other experts and make sure of investment for the future generations of people, so that Britain prospers rather than stagnates and declines. WE need that NOW. BUT we have not got it now, we have to build, and start somewhere. That is better than never at all.
We have a manifesto, it is not written in granite. We want to bring corrupt politicians to face justice, we want public services to operate not for profit but for people. WE want a green agenda that provides jobs, prosperity and sets an example to the rest of the world. We want radical reform, so Britain never succumbs to fascism again. We want to unite with EU and heal divisions within our own country. WE want to suppress those that broadcast hatred and division and we want a whole lot more, like a written constitution, Proportional Representation and fair taxation.
What we propose will not be easy, but it will be just. What we propose will attract critics and enemies, but that is because we propose doing something and not accepting what is wrong, what is not working – the status quo.
So to the negatives out there, with your handbrake ON, I trust you are happy with your standard of living and future prospects for you and your children. Good Luck to you. Maybe in time you will remove your rose coloured glasses, your blinkers, your ear plugs, even release your handbrake and engage 1st gear.
To the positives out there, who want to see a light at the end of the tunnel, in Britain’s darkest hours since World War II, join us, and make the tunnel shorter and the light brighter.
You owe it to those you care about. You owe it to them to create an alternative.
I never thought is my wildest dreams, I would be out there launching a new political party. Britain has been going backwards since 2008. BUT, for me and the last thousand days, I can see no alternative.
Maybe those that think the socialist agenda will join us, I would hope so, whoever they are, MPs, other parties, groups, protestors, activists, the rank and file. Britain needs a change, it is Time 4 Change.
It is time for People 1st and no longer People last.
