A reminder about Matt Hancock Tory MP for Newmarket and former Health Secretary.
1. On 23, January 2020, Wancock told the House of Commons that Coronavirus was “of low risk to the UK, which was well prepared, well equipped and world leaders in testing”. 4 lies in one sentence. UK ended up with the 7th worse death toll, in a world of 200 nations, and 5 of the top 6 had far higher population totals than UK.

2. Boris Britain had ignored the findings of 2 exercises, Cygnus and Alice that showed NHS was under prepared to cope with a pandemic. 200,000 bodies piled high, 30,000 of those in Hancock’s “ring fenced” care homes, who lost a third of their residents. Health Staff were not adequately protected, Hancock himself gave out lucrative contracts to a local publican and to his sister. Hundreds of care and health workers died. £37 bn was budgeted for creating a test and trace system, again run by chums, that failed to test and the money went untraceable. There were not enough beds, hence the elderly discharged from hospitals to care homes in March 2020, to their deaths. They had not been tested. Nightingale hospitals were erected as glorified Marquees, they had hardly any used beds as they had hardly any staff and were just a publicity stunt.

3. Hancock eventually was forced to resign , breaking his own lockdown rules, when the Sun newspaper caught him on camera in a sting operation groping his mistress. He had secured her a job in his dept for at a salary of £15,000 pa. Hancock had to also leave his wife and children, become an insignificant back bencher, before getting a £400,000 pay deal with ITV for being a Celebrity in a jungle programme where he came 3rd. 3% of those earnings went to charity. 4. Hancock was a former employee in the family’s computer business and then got a job as an economist at the Bank of England. Hardly the credentials to be a Minister for Health. Even more damaging the fact that he ignored health and scientific advice, alongwith his partner in crime Boris Johnson. Both of whom should have been charged with Misconduct in Public Office as recommended by a report of the same name by Mike Mansfield KC. A report that has collected dust for 15 months in Scotland Yard. Misconduct in Public Office carries a life sentence.
