Some people are being Manipulated, brainwashed, not just by constant TV advertising or Government propaganda, Tory Fake News headlines, but by disinformation on across social media
Subversion (from the Latin word subvertere, 'overthrow') refers to a process by which the values and principles of a system in place are contradicted or reversed, in an attempt to transform the established social order and its structures of power, authority, hierarchy, and social norms. There is a new election process in these digital times. Less soap boxes, less handshakes and kissing babies in the street, more internet disinformation.
“ You put disinformation into the blood system of the internet and watch it grow, you feed groups that are already out there , you infiltrate them and it’s untraceable. In that way you can target the voters especially the undecided voters”.
The Grey Zone is a threat to our way of life, where extremists, conspiracy theories and deniers can flourish.
You can get a Proton, email account , send emails that will self destruct and leave a paperless trail, no evidence.
The Russians use it to weaken other nations, instead of sending in tanks. Cambridge Analytica used it in the 2016 referendum, Trump election 2017 and in other countries worldwide, whoever paid the most. The internet is used to put the nasty stuff on, while the TV and Newspapers cover the public campaigning, which is somewhat cleaner. Elections are about emotions, get at people’s emotions and you affect the vote. I have come across facebook groups purporting to be Britain at is Best, British Photography, which are covert Boris Johnson supporter Groups. On his Number 10 UK Prime Minister site I have see “good job Boris” comments from so called Doctors whose profile picture is of an asian man in a surgical gown. The Daily Express and the Telegraph both have absurd headlines, that EU is crumbling, France is next to leave, the German Press announce 5 countries want to leave. None of it true.
