It goes from Bad to Worse June 14

Boris the Buffoon blunders again. For 2 weeks he allowed more than 20,000 Indians to fly into London April 11 to April 23.

Almost a third of the 42 Britons who have so far died from the Indian (Delta) Covid had been double jabbed, a new report has revealed.

With the Prime Minister on the verge of delaying 'Freedom Day' by up to four weeks, new analysis by Public Health England (PHE) has revealed that 29 per cent of Covid deaths from the B.1.617.2 strain had received two injections.

And, in a further blow, the PHE report suggests the Delta variant has a 64 per cent increased risk of household transmission compared to the Kent (Alpha) variant.

It is also believed to be 40 per cent more transmissible outdoors, according to the PHE figures.

The Delta strain is now the UK's most dominant, with more than 90 per cent of Covid cases in the UK now the Indian variant, according to PHE.

Amid rising case numbers, the new report has raised fears among some scientists that the UK could be swamped with a third Covid wave.

It comes as analysis by the Sunday Telegraph shows that, at the current rate, the UK could have 80,000 new cases a day by mid-July. Coronavirus Pandemic "If you're fighting a war you need an army" Former WHO Director Professor Anthony Costello calls for local public health teams to receive more funding to "lockdown any outbreaks as they occur" The 37bn spent on Test n Trace is not delivering. April 11 to April 23 was "lost time" for the Indian Variant.

The variant now makes up more than 90% of cases in England and is estimated by Public Health England (PHE) to be 64% more transmissible than the Alpha (Kent) variant indoors. Most of these cases are among younger people, who are less likely to have been jabbed. Sunday 13 June there were +7,490 new cases. A month ago cases were a quarter of that. Deaths and hospitalisation figures are much reduced, but not new cases. This is the data, for Johnson's artificial road map dates, which give people hope just to be dashed, which causes chaos and confusion, because Johnson has never controlled the borders. Control of Borders was the Brexit slogan against immigration but for 16 months, there has been little or no control of air passengers spreading a global pandemic and different variants. The government has been criticised for putting India on the travel red list on 23 April - two weeks after neighbouring Pakistan and Bangladesh when the pandemic was worse in India.

In most regions, Indian Delta cases are doubling every 4.5 to 11.5 days, with the West Midlands and Yorkshire having the fastest rates.

COVID-19: PM to plead for 'one last heave' to freedom as he is set to delay lockdown easing by four weeks

Concerns over the Delta variant means last remaining restrictions are expected to stay in place until the middle of July.

So this road map is ripped up at 6pm tonight because of Boris Johnson dithering once again, as he always has for 16 months. He desperately wanted an Indian Trade deal after the Brexit Disaster, and instead of trade he got a variant brought in by some of 20,000 plus air passengers which continues to this day. If he had for once been decisive, there would be no surge in cases. All he can hope for now is the entire adult population getting 2 jabs.

This another chapter in the gross mismanagement of the pandemic for the entire 16 months, and 130,000 plus needless deaths. The pain and suffering so caused, financial insecurity, and the consequent damage to NHS performance with waiting lists for treatment now at record levels.

Johnson and Hancock have left a legacy of total failure and should not be in their jobs.

However, the PM is already being hit with a furious backlash from business and Tory MPs.

The hospitality industry said a four week delay could mean 200,000 jobs going and £3billion in lost sales.

Meanwhile, senior Conservatives insisted Britons must accept that the virus is with us 'forever' and the government cannot 'fumble along' with 'devastating' lockdowns.
