Immunity to the Johnson Variant

One of the many oversights by a crime minister who has no brain for details and analysis, and therefore the consequences is people with low immunity, in his herd immunity ambition and letting the bodies pile high. This came to my attention , when a new member mentioned his concerns and like many his Crime Minister has let him down: Rowan Farmer
I had a telephone appointment with my hospital consultant this morning and we were talking about my immune system disorder and covid restrictions ending soon. He said that "our govt has let us down very badly, the NHS and all the people with compromised immune systems" and there are very many of us, of ALL ages! People dismiss us as people with 'underlying health conditions' which appears to mean that it doesn't really matter if we live or die, but it DOES! And it could matter to everyone of of those dismissing us if they too become ill and immune compromised! This link gives an idea of what immune suppression means and what causes it https://patient.info/.../immune-system.../immune-suppression
And this link helps explain some of the problems we face with the vaccine
If you consider that immune suppression occurs in such common illnesses as diabetes, some types of arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis, kidney and liver disease, MS, as well as those who have had organ or bone marrow transplants or having treatment for cancer, I can't even guess how many in the UK are affected! There are over 100 autoimmune diseases, and that's not counting the cancer and transplant patients who are immunocompromised because of their treatment.
All these issues can affect people of all ages, not just the elderly. If the govt continues to disregard the problems faced by millions of immune suppressed people where the vaccine is not as efficient as it should be, and carries on their plan of stopping covid restrictions including face masks, social distancing etc I can see a situation developing that could dwarf the problems we had with deaths in care homes. The govt will say we should go back to shielding, but as they're stopping furlough where does that leave us?
I have to say I'm not an expert in any of this, just a patient living with immune suppression because of diabetes, psoriasis, crohn's disease and chronic kidney disease. None of which are classed as terminal illnesses, so people who dismiss most covid related deaths as being more to do with "underlying health conditions which would kill them anyway" have got it wrong, 'underlying health condition' does not necessarily mean terminal, it's the covid virus that makes it so. Which is why we need continuing covid protection.

If you wish to share your personal stories how Johnson affects you, I am all ears, we have to demonstrate empathy, because there is none in Blue Westminster. It also gives us a distinctive, exclusive edge telling personal stories.
