Confessions of a former Civil Servant

Johnson wants to cut him some slack!!

Former Director of Communications takes the flack

The Sun's deputy editor James Slack worked in No. 10 as director of communications at the time the Christmas parties took place 2020. In May 2020 he was at the garden party at Number 10.

On 16th April 2021 , the eve of the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral, when the Queen had to sit alone in the chapel of Windsor by law, it was Slack's leaving party and that of a photographer that went on all night, had a suitcase of wine brought in from the Co Op in the Strand, had a dj operating his turntables on top of a photocopier in the basement of Number 10. Although Johnson was meant to be in Chequers at the time, this demonstrates the culture within number 10. And it is not feasible that Johnson did not know his Director of Communications was going to hold a leaving party. Wilfred's garden swing was even broken in the drunken frolics.

It also shows why now , even today the Sun has NOT been reporting on these Downing Street parties, when they really had an inside account an eye witness now sitting in their editorial offices.

Slack has apologised for the party. Yet another confession of a Civil Servant, that broke laws. James Slack, now deputy editor of the Sun, says sorry for ‘anger and hurt’ caused by party during Covid lockdown after getting the flack.

Parties held at Number 10 as Her Majesty mourned

Downing Street is embroiled in a fresh party controversy. The Telegraph can reveal that staff drank alcohol into the early hours at two leaving events the night before Prince Philip's socially-distanced funeral. Some attendees played music in the basement and danced as a senior No 10 adviser acted as DJ, a witness said. It is also alleged that one person present went to a nearby Co-op with a suitcase to collect bottles of wine. The next day, the Queen sat alone at the Duke of Edinburgh's funeral in St George's Chapel because of Covid-19 restrictions. Political Correspondent Tony Diver has the full revelations. Speaking to today's Chopper's Politics podcast, Andrew Bridgen becomes the fifth Tory MP to call for Mr Johnson to resign, confirming he has submitted a letter of no confidence to the 1922 Committee. And Sir Keir Starmer was branded an "absolute hypocrite" for drinking beer with staff in lockdown.
