Brexit and the British in Spain who are victims of a fraud re TIE Cards and Driving Licences. If you know anyone affected, they should contact me.
It’s suddenly turned cold in Spain after months of sunshine and heat. Sunny Spain is what the British left Britain for in their millions. But Brexit brought storm clouds over their lives in Spain. Many of them hypocritically shot themselves in the foot and like exporters in Britain they voted for Brexit six years ago. Trouble is they shot everyone else in the foot too, with the worse self inflicted economic suicide decision ever inflicted by a nation in peace time.
The British who retired or went to work in Spain had to change all their identity status for living and driving in Spain. They had to change their banking arrangements, they could no longer use Amazon UK, they were reclassified as 3rd class citizens along with the Moroccans, the £ in their pocket plummeted in value.
Most of the British in Spain came here to get drunk in the sun, a sweeping generalisation, but an honest overall appraisal. So when the British Government disowned them, and the Spanish Government said not our problema, they were given time limits to change their credentials, and many of them turned for help from people that turned out to be fraudsters, who saw an opportunity to make a quick killing. The fraudsters promised everything, a one stop shop, and they delivered nothing. Hundreds of victims lost thousands of Euros. The fraudsters also knew that most of the victims would not complain or know how to complain and it was an easy con. Even if they did get caught, they would make thousands.
Now there is a court case, after the National Police received a small percentage of complaints. However many of the victims are unaware of this, as they were unaware of what to do when Brexit changed their lives. Many Brits have gone back to Britain. Many Brits have bought homes in Spain and cannot live in them and have to travel back and forth to Britain and have two lots of overheads and bills to pay. Many of them are desperate. Many of them arguing amongst themselves.
BUT still the Great British mentality prevails: “I have an opinion, I know what to do, I will not listen to experts, I will only listen to my mates that know as much as I do, which is nothing”.
Brexit has Broken Britain, and is breaking British lives home and abroad. Six million Brits live in Europe, that is 10% of the population. Boris’s Brexit was done and so were the British, done to a kipper. Inflation is worse in Britain. It is a global problem , but worse in isolated Brexit Britain. 4 of the 10% inflation is because of Brexit. Car manufacturing, like the value of the pound has plummeted. Energy Bills are far higher than in Europe, cost of travelling also. Brexit was a UKIP idea, adopted by the Conservatives to keep voters who hated immigrants. All European countries have far more immigrants than Britain. The Brexiteers said the immigrants were taking their jobs. Now the EU citizens have left Britain and their jobs, the health service, care service, farming, building, transport and hospitality industries have mass vacancies, because the British do not want low paid jobs that are hard work.
Not only did the Conservatives create this mess by flag waving nationalism, not patriotism, the opposition Labour party voted for it too. So the 2 main political parties of Britain betrayed their citizens and condemned them to a poorer standard of living, highest cost of living, highest taxation for 70 years and exports down to 1955 levels.
If you read a book or saw a film about all this you would think it was fiction, but it is fact and there is no script. There are also no solutions, as both political parties will not admit the mistake that stares them daily in the face. Even with Covid, Spain and Italy suffered badly before Plague Island (Britain) overtook them to become the 7th worse country in the world, with 200,000 bodies piling high from what Boris Johnson called Kung Flu. BUT Spain and Italy were bailed out from their financial costs of combatting Covid by the European Central Bank to maintain their economy. They also combatted it better that Boris Britain. So now Spain can afford to cut taxes on fuel and energy, where isolated Brexit Britain is £2.7 trillion in debt, and billions handed to conservative chums for contracts related to saving lives that delivered nothing but death and unscrupulous profiteering.
Very much like the scam here in Spain, except in Britain it was a government scam, not a few individual criminals who fleeced those asking for help.
So, there is a connection between Brexit and the Brexiteers, the Citizens of both countries and the scammers.
The scammers in Spain and the British politicians lied, hood winked everyone for their own self interests and benefit and the citizens believed all the lies and took it hook line and sinker.
What’s more the citizens, the victims of Brexit, are not prepared to do anything about it. Some may march for one day in London to protest, they may take to social media, but nothing changes. The press that sold them Brexit, still print the same old fake news. Never mind the facts this is the story.
In Spain the victims of fraud many of them have their head in the sand too. They would not come forward in fear of revealing themselves as illegal residents in Spain, when this is not the case at all. Even now there is a way to make them legal, BUT they also do not want to pay out more to get a solution, when they will get that money back if they adopt the right channels and secure convictions for those that duped them.
It is like taking a horse to water, and it will not drink.
So again those that DO listen to experts, those that do want to DO something about injustice are hampered by the apathy and ignorant brigade, like driving a car with the handbrake on.
Arrogance, ignorance and apathy, a brutal cocktail. The Great British stiff upper lip, take it on the chin, turn a blind eye, never admit you were wrong, we know best, we don’t have to listen to anyone, we had the biggest Empire in the World (100 years ago) and where does it get you? Nowhere fast.
