Victory is sweet Alexander Boris Klingon DePfeffel Johnson is a fictional species of Prime Minister whose term of office is doomed. Klingons are swarthy humanoids characterized by prideful ruthlessness and brutality, lack of morals, and empathy. Yesterday the people of North Shropshire, did what the whole country wants to do, give the PM a kicking because they are fed up with him.
His own Party of MPs are no longer sycophants and will now wonder when it is their turn next for the Job Centre queue. Meanwhile Booster Man klings onto a wing and a prayer.
Tories vote share was down 1/3rd. They relinquished a 22,000 majority to a 5,000 loss. There was a 46% turnout, which means in a farming country seat that had always been blue, many stayed at home. Johnson has turned from a vote winner into a liability. He is on the ropes, one more knockout for his cesspit government and he is out for the count. "The people of North Shropshire have spoken for us all. This government is rancid and it’s impacting them terribly ," wrote Gary Neville.
Triumphant Liberal Democrat Helen Morgan used her victory speech to thank party activists and to attack what she described as Boris Johnson’s “lies and bluster”.
“Tonight, the people of North Shropshire have spoken on behalf of the British people.
“They have said loudly and clearly: ‘Boris Johnson, the party is over’.
“Your Government, run on lies and bluster, will be held accountable. It will be scrutinised, it will be challenged and it can and will be defeated."
“Tonight the people of North Shropshire have said enough is enough. They have said that you are unfit to lead and that they want a change.”

Johnson is a dead man walking. His fall from grace spectacular. The longer he remains in office the worse it is for the Conservative Party. They have to put their house in order. Yesterday they lost a safe seat after 200 years. They did not just lose it, they were humiliated a 23,000 majority converted to a 6,000 defeat. A drop of a third in their vote, and a turnout of half the voters that means many Tory voters stayed at home and abstained from supporting their government. In that case they can lose anywhere and everywhere, and could be wiped off the voter's map in England, as they are in Wales and Scotland. If I have come to that conclusion, you can bet the 1922 Committee have as well.
