3 Prime Ministers in 3 months.

Writer's picture: Allan SharpeAllan Sharpe

4 Chancellors, umpteen Education ministers, The Tories have been scrapping the bottom of a barrel of half wits to pretend to govern Britain. Instead they have Broken Britain, with their incompetence and Brexit. A £50bn black hole in the Economy that is £2.7 trillion in debt and interest payments equivalent to what is spent on defence.

Johnson was on never ending jolly holidays, Truss was a nightmare and broke the pensions and the Bank of England, plummeting the value of the £., Sunak is now given to Britain as the new Prime Minister with another revolving door of cabinet ministers none of which are fit for public office. Old recycled faces that were useless first time round, sacked and reappointed as if there is no other choice. The Nation wanted a General Election, not be given 3rd choice rubbish from the bargain basement rejects. "You’re receiving this email because you signed this petition: “Hold a General Election within 100 days of the new PM being appointed”.

Dear Allan Sharpe,

The Government has responded to the petition you signed – “Hold a General Election within 100 days of the new PM being appointed”.

Government responded:

The Government continues to hold office as it commands the confidence of the Commons from the General Election 2019. The Prime Minister has committed to deliver on the mandate earned in that election.
The United Kingdom is a Parliamentary democracy, not a Presidential one. Following the general election of December 2019, Members of Parliament of the governing party (the Conservative Party) were elected such that there is a majority in the House of Commons and a Conservative Government which commands the confidence of the House. This remains the case. A change in the leader of the governing party does not trigger a general election – this has been the case under governments of successive political colours - including the change in Prime Minister under the last Labour Government in 2007.The Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022 provides that Parliament is automatically dissolved five years after it first meets (unless it is dissolved sooner), otherwise the timing is a matter for the incumbent Prime Minister, who can request a dissolution of Parliament from the Sovereign. In his speech of 25 October 2022, the new Prime Minister set out that His Majesty's Government would deliver on the mandate earned in the 2019 election, including the promises in the 2019 manifesto - for a stronger NHS, better schools, safer streets, control of our borders, protecting our environment, supporting our armed forces, and levelling up and building an economy that embraces the opportunities of Brexit. ~Cabinet Office So where is democracy under the Tories? Destroyed - as they have destroyed industry, exports, standards of living, education and the health & care service. Tories have no honour, no intelligence, no integrity, no plans other than to cling on to power and a waste of valuable oxygen. Megalomaniacs that want to silence public protest by making the public criminals. What single thing have they done in 12 years that has benefitted the people of Britain? Highest Taxes, highest inflation, highest energy bills, highest cost of living, interest rates up and into the longest recession for a 100 years. They Have to GO.
