Broken Britain, how why and what is the solution?
As a General Strike of public service workers looms, with just one day in December strike free – the 12th, Britain’s decline gets deeper.
2022 has seen 3 Tory PMs, 5 Chancer Chancellors , countless education ministers. It has seen lies and corruption daily by a criminally incompetent Government.
In 12 years the Tories have done nothing for industry or the people. It has restrained their wages, raised their taxes and reduced their public services, so that even when there is not a strike for higher pay, Britain’s public services are not working properly. The Tory answer to their malaise was to silence protests aimed at them. Tories have given you record inflation, mortgages, rents and energy bills. It has caused more food banks than ever and growing poverty, with families choosing to eat or heat. It has lowered your standard of living and raised your cost of living. Tory Britain is more like 1922 than 2022. The Tories have had no policies about housing, energy, social care, the NHS, only to sell it off, asset stripping. They just keep increasing taxes whilst raising the national debt to record levels, plunging the value of the £, exports, productivity, and Britain into recession. They are like delinquent school boys playing mischievous games, instead of manging the country. They try to say other countries are in the same position, not so, another LIE.
In fact lying has now become acceptable, because it is no long astonishing, that right honourable men and women have no honour, no morals, no empathy, no honesty and integrity. They have thrown billions of taxpayers’ money at their chums , watched 200,000 bodies pile high, lie, distort the truth, hide the evidence, and deny guilt. Tories also gave Britain self inflicted economic suicide again for self servatism and tax avoidance. Brexit has caused most of the economic woes, it is now official apart from inside the House of Commons. Brexit is 5 of the 10% inflation you suffer, and makes workers ask for more wages, hence the strikes. Brexit gave you Brexodus and tens of thousands of vacancies across low paying jobs. Ironically, Brexit also aided the dinghy invasion of migrants across the channel, the one thing the Fascists said would not happen under control of Britain’s borders. The truth was getting back control meant power, control over the people, and isolationism so, Britain had no friends anywhere.
So what is the solution? A General Election most of you would say. True the Tories have to be made extinct. But who is going to reverse and repeal all the harm they have done? What political parties have announced sweeping alternatives and solutions? What Political parties are now occupying the centre right ground as the Tories swing extreme nationalist fascist right? What political parties also voted for Brexit and have remained silent ever since? That’s right the main opposition. What political party supports workers? That’s right none. Many people think politicians are all the same, regardless of political persuasion. Many people are mainly not wrong. I can think of a handful of MPs fit for public service. The majority of the 650 are in it for the expenses and the 2nd jobs, and what political party has a manifesto to correct politicians abusing their roles and status?
The problem to any solution is the problem that got us here in the first place. Apathy, ignorance, gullibility. The voters are only 2 out of 3 people in the room. One third of the electorate cannot be bothered. That leaves 2 people and one of them will believe anything the politicians and newspapers, plus GB News tells them. This applies to the older you get, whereas you may have thought with age they would have learnt by now, but no. Britain will limp along as long as the newspapers and broadcasters are allowed to publish fake news. Houses of Parliament also need fundamental reform as does the constitution. Politicians have to be held to account and put an end to their deception which they call politics. There are too many constituencies, why have 6 Tory MPs representing Cornwall for instance, just have one, a local person who cares about the place of his birth. Allow Proportional Representation, a fairer election process, all other non dictatorship countries in Europe adopt. I am afraid to say your idea of a General Election will cure all, will become plain to see, as Britain will continue to muddle along, throw money at mistakes, accept 2nd or 3rd best and have no long term plan and direction. Most MPs do not serve their constituencies nor their country. Everything is short term thinking with a view to remain in power, in office, not to make Britain Better, where People come 1st. not last.
